Bring the Game to Your Community
We’ve been thrilled with the response from communities around the country who are interested in having this kind of game. Our team is currently working on ways to help bring this game to as many communities as possible.
If you’d like a game like this in your community, first off, thank you. It’s so inspiring to know that people like you care enough about your community to look into new ways of creating resilience. We currently have three options for communities interested in the game:
Make your own game
This is a great option if you are itching to get moving and have the skills, time or interest to make your own. There aren’t any fancy parts to the game and it can often be created using office supplies that are most likely laying around.
Request a game from us
We are more than happy to find ways to share these games more broadly. This type of approach does take a little more time and we’ll need some things from you to get started. This option requires more lead time for us and also requires a bit more commitment on the part of potential community partners.
Play the generic game
Not everyone has the time to make their own game or work with us to do the hosting and outreach necessary for creating a custom game. For folks with those types of interests, we’re creating a boardgame that will highlight the general behaviors, actions and approaches that will help individuals and communities prepare for wildfire evacuations. This type of game will be effective in home and school settings, but it will not have the specific maps and locations of the prior two games.
We are currently developing this game, and it should be ready by October 2024. We’ll be sending out updates related to the game and give you a sneak peak into it’s contents.
